NextGen Bar Exam vs. UBE: What Changed?

The NextGen UBE is shorter (9 hours vs 12), covers fewer subjects (8 vs 12+), and replaces standalone essays with integrated question sets. Performance tasks increase from 20% to 30% of the score. The new integrated question sets (21% of score) present multi-document fact patterns with mixed question types. The exam is fully digital. Subject changes: Business Associations is now directly tested; Conflict of Laws and Secured Transactions are dropped from direct testing. Seven foundational lawyering skills are tested throughout rather than being confined to performance tasks.
